Private Property Saved the Pilgrims

The common defense of communist economies is, "Yeah, but that's not real communism." Enter The Pilgrims. The people that risked their lives to sail across the Atlantic Ocean on little sail boats to be free of the Church of England. They were as homogeneous as a congregation could be. This is also a bit redundant but I think it's worth mentioning that this was back in 1623. Think of all our complaints about the younger generations: they need participation trophies, are lazy, spoiled and addicted to their phones/social media/video games. The pilgrims didn't have any of these distractions. And yet even they couldn't prosper under communism. Fortunately, William Bradford recognized the importance of property rights and that's something to be thankful for. Here is a condensed summary of the Pilgrims story: https://www.heritage.org/.../pilgrims-beat-communism-free... Davies, Harrigan: The War on Small Business

If you know a small business owner, you know this is both true and heartbreaking. What is even more heartbreaking is economists like these authors have been warning of this outcome since the start of the lockdowns. In response they were shouted down and called rude things like “grandma killers”. This is why economics is important. It’s not enough to have good intentions. At some point public policy needs to actually work. And if it doesn’t, we need to be humble enough to reverse course. https://insidesources.com/the-war-on-small-business/

Psaki: It’s ‘Unfair And Absurd’ That Companies Would Raise Costs For Consumers Due To Higher Taxes

Spoken like someone who has never managed the costs of running a business. Profit = price - costs Costs include but are not limited to: employees, certifications, facility mortgages, materials, gas, electricity, and taxes. Profit is becoming a demonized word, but the reality is if a company cannot make a profit then it cannot provide employment opportunities and it cannot provide goods and services to people in the local community. Most companies in the US. only make 8% profit. (1) With such a slim margin, if any of the above costs go up, then the average company has no choice but to raise prices just to stay afloat. It is absurd that the administration does not get such basic economics 1. https://wordsandnumbers.libsyn.com/you-just-hate-the-poor...
